For many it often starts with the physical goals of looking good and feeling fit. But as we stay at the gym longer and longer – we start to get a deeper meaning and motivation for working out. It starts to become more than the weight on the bar, or the pace on the treadmill; we feel a sense of empowerment and pride, maybe a desire to empower others.
A question worth asking every now and then… Strong for what?
What are you strong for… Strong for your kids, so you can keep up and keep the energy they want from you?
Maybe you are strong for your partner, your family, the ones that have trust and rely on you?
Perhaps you are strong for yourself, your future self; the desire to maintain your independence and longevity, health and remain disease free?
But no matter your reason, the fact that you are showing up is building your mental resilience and you can use that for whatever you want. It’s an investment, it’s giving yourself more capability, more chances to improve, more strength to deal with life’s dealings.
So walk in the doors with purpose, train with intention, remember what you are strong for!
