There is a reason why training at the gym feels different. The feeling of lifting weights, breaking a sweat, smashing personal bests, provides some stimulation. However, much of the boost in endorphins, serotonin, and motivation from dopamine; are elevated by the presence of others around us.
Research suggests that human connection during exercise; leads to better gains in strength and fitness; we are determined to push harder when amongst this atmosphere. The power of showing up with a common goal and determination has a potential far more powerful than being alone.
Fitness is physical, but belonging is emotional.
On your next visit to the club – say hi to someone new, high-five of the team, or cheer someone on class; I guarantee you will feel these emotions.
This week the CP team came together to share a beautiful Christmas lunch provided by our local OneSip Cafe. The team shared lots of laughs and banter; followed by a secret santa.
