There is an important link between what we feed our bodies, in terms of exercise and a nutritious diet, that has a profound effect on our mental health and confidence. At its core, a healthy, strong, and fit body will foster a healthy mind and thoughts. So much that we like to refer to exercise as medicine.
When we train, our body’s naturally release endorphins that promote feelings of happiness and euphoria. The term ‘runners high’ encapsulates this feeling that we are on top of the world, and our sense of worth elevates. Exercise is hard, but the fact that we can do it and overcome it on a daily basis, signals our brain that we can overcome hard things and build more resilience.
Developing your exercise routine, setting it as a priority in your life, builds the discipline that you need and can implement into different areas of your life. The accomplishment of lifting more, running further, biking faster, developing better flexibility; improves your self-image. It becomes a transferable skill making your work, house chores, or playing with your kids easier. It can be your doctor, counselor, and medicine – all in one!
Club Physical loves seeing the results in our members, physically getting stronger and emotionally building social networks, camaraderie, and feeling the sense of belonging! So keep coming, bring your friends, and build your unbreakable confidence.
