Or have you been ‘just passing time’?
There’s allot to be said for setting goals. Being specific. Writing your intentions down and pinning them to the toilet door, with a deadline of course.
On the eve of setting your New Year’s Resolutions, you have a very powerful opportunity. And one that could create a strong sense of purpose and excitement for you for months to come!
Over the last few years I’ve read a number of biographies from some of the world’s most successful people. And yes, it’s common that we define success by how big our business has become, how many fans follow our rock band or how many followers we have on social media.
But when you read the colourful tags that members have written on Club Physical’s 2025 Gratitude Tree, you might be quickly surprised that there is indeed another type of success. One that perhaps commands a little less focussed drive and instead a simple sense of ‘caring’. Here’s a crosssection of what our members have been grateful for in 2025;
- My wonderful Frankie. My health and the health of my parents.
- Tu Te ao Tu te po E kowiti
- My family, my health and my eyesight
- Toku whanau ahu hoa
- The Club Physical team, to quote Tina Turner, ‘Simply the Best’
- A body that can move every day
- Another year with my family and friends
- For ten years with Club Physical
- At my age thankful for the privilege of being able to come to the gym with my son
- For our healthy lives, our house, food, car and jobs
- For being able to get back to the gym again
- The C.P Kids Club and the amazing Kaimatu
- My friends
- My gym buddies
- Mobility, my kids, my friends and this beautiful country
- My job, my family and another blessed year
Studies have repeatedly shown that the simple act of ‘gratitude’ has a profoundly positive impact on your health and longevity. As you can see above, its not hard to find something, or someone who you are grateful for. So while you are striving to find purpose, to set goals and move ahead in 2026, let’s challenge ourselves to, as a foundational baseline, to first be thankfull for our health, our family and the people in our lives!
